January = The Wheel of Time Month

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."

Wheel of Time?
Who better to explain to you guys what The Wheel of Time is all about than Wikipedia, right? Here's what it says:

The Wheel of Time is a series of epic fantasy novels written by American author James Oliver Rigney, Jr., under the pen name Robert Jordan. Originally planned as a six-book series, The Wheel of Time now spans fourteen volumes, in addition to a prequel novel and a companion book. Jordan began writing the first volume, The Eye of the World, in 1984 and it was published in January 1990.

The author died in 2007 while working on what was planned to be the final volume in the series, although he had prepared extensive notes so another author could complete the book according to his wishes. Fellow fantasy author and long-time Wheel of Time fan Brandon Sanderson was brought in to complete the final book, but during the writing process it was decided that the book would be far too large to be published in one volume, and would instead be published as three volumes: The Gathering Storm (2009), Towers of Midnight (2010) and A Memory of Light (to be released on 8 January 2013).

Why dedicate a whole month to The Wheel of Time?
22 years after the first book, The Eye of the World, was published, the epic series of 14 books comes to an end on the 8th of January with the release of the final volume: A Memory of Light. Fans all over the world have been waiting eagerly for the conclusion to their favourite Fantasy book series, so, as I'm a big party girl, I want to celebrate this event! I have to admit that I'm a bit of a newby in the Wheel of Time world, but I'm reading the books as we speak and I'm hooked!

    1. It's very good! Though I've heard a lot of people complain about the books just before the last three. But we'll see, I absolutely loved the first one! I highly recommend it!
